She holds a Bachelor of Science from Colorado State University (zoology), a Bachelor of Arts from Midway College (education), a Master of Business Administration, and a Master of Science in Management from Sullivan University. She is currently a Ph.D. candidate at Sullivan University.
Meshell currently works in higher education administration to aid students in reaching graduation, but in the past, she has worked as a park ranger and a substitute teacher. Additionally, she serves on the Parent Advisory Council for Office of Children with Special Healthcare Needs and serves as Treasurer of Kentucky Association of Veteran Education Certifying Officials, an organization she helped found.
She grew up in Orange County, CA, briefly lived in the states of Washington and Colorado, and currently lives in Louisville, KY. Married to her high school sweetheart, they have two children and a small zoo: 2 dogs, 2 cats, 12 snakes, and 11 lizards.
