Scholarships are a great source of aid because they, like grants, are gift aid and do not have to be repaid. Students are encouraged to seek out scholarship opportunities for additional educational funding. Scholarships generally require an application and essay. The application process and deadline to apply varies by scholarship. Students are encouraged to begin searching for scholarships early as some scholarships may have January deadlines.
