Georgia Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer
Thomas Funeral Home in Calhoun, Georgia, seeks a Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer for a full-time and permanent position.
Our family-owned business is the oldest funeral home in Gordon County and takes pride in serving our community with honor and excellence. We serve 200 families per year, and only a quarter of our clients select cremations. We have renovated our 9k square foot facilities to provide families with the most comfortable and technologically advanced services.
We believe in providing opportunities for our employees to pursue continuing education units, attend conferences when funds are available, and encourage our employees to partake in community leadership programs. We are a family-friendly business and understand that family comes first.
Salary is considered with experience; a salary range is $55-62K per year. We are unable to pay for relocation costs but do pay for licensing with the State of Georgia as well as any continuing educational units.
Job Requirements and Responsibilities:
• Georgia licensed funeral director and embalmer
• Compliance with all mortuary, health, vital statistics, and legal obligations
• Arrangement conferences for preplanning and at need services
• Professional dress and presentation when directing funerals or other related services
• Directing funerals, memorial services, graveside services, transportation of flowers, preparation of deceased, and removals and transfers of bodies during business hours
• Administrative work including but not limited to preparation of forms, purchase agreements, online memorials and obituaries, set up and break down of event materials, ordering supplies, and general cleaning of building
• Consent for a criminal background check and drug test
Preferred Qualifications
• 2-5 years as a licensed funeral director and embalmer in Georgia
• Spanish language candidates highly preferred
